What is An Essential Oil

An essential oil is a highly concentrated, volatile, aromatic liquid, that is extracted from a variety of plants, shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, and seeds. Essential oils are not the same as perfume or fragrance oils. Essential oils are derived from the true plants, perfume oils are artificially created fragrances or contain artificial substances and do not offer the therapeutic benefits that essential oils offer. Essential Oils are the bloodline of the plant and work similarly in the human body. Essential oils can support the immune system, aid in maintaining normal cellular regeneration, elevate your mood, help you to relax, improve mental clarity, reduce stress, boost stamina and energy, and promote overall health, vitality, and longevity.

Essential oils enter the body primarily in three ways—applied to the skin, inhaled, or some can be ingested. Within each of these, there are many different kinds of application methods. For example, you can apply essential oils topically using compresses, sprays, baths, or massaging them into the skin.

Young Living is proud to set the standard for essential oil purity and authenticity by carefully monitoring the production of their oils through their unique Seed to Seal® process. From the time the seed is sourced until the oil is sealed in the bottle, they apply the most rigorous quality controls possible to ensure that the end result is exactly the way nature intended. Their exclusive Seed to Seal process includes five painstaking steps:
